Marlee Matlin came to realize there was onedownside to starring in the Sundance Film Festival runaway hit "CODA" witha groundbreaking ensemble of predominantlydeaf actors (now in theaters and on Apple TV+). So what was it about CODA that inspired producers to open their minds, and their checkbooks? The deaf actress also starred in TVs Reasonable Doubts. In 2002, Matlin published her first novel, titled Deaf Child Crossing, which was loosely based on her own childhood. To further promote inclusion, Marlee is an executive producer on the new A&E documentary Deaf Out Loud, which premiered Sept. 12.
